ASMRAF checks your documents and arranges a mine visit. Time depends on the evidence and availability.
Your code becomes Certified, with a certificate.
Once your mine meets the onboarding requirements, you can sell to any approved buyer.
Your MUCC code never changes. While it’s Provisional, it holds your place. Once it’s Certified, you can proceed with an approved buyer, subject to the sale checks.

Who can register
You can register if you own or run an artisanal or small-scale mine of any mineral or metal, or represent the owner, a co-op or a group of miners.
For your code to become Certified, you’ll need evidence of your identity and authority to represent the mine; the legal permissions required for its actual activities; and its location. An application for a permit is not permission to mine.
Every verified mine follows our rules: no child labour, no forced labour, safety gear used and accidents reported, waste and tailings managed safely, a record kept for every sale, and checks allowed.
No licence or permit yet? Ask ASMRAF about the checks needed. The relevant government authority grants mining permissions; ASMRAF cannot grant or replace them.
How to know it’s really ASMRAF
- We never charge you to register or to get your MUCC code.
- We never ask for your bank PIN, password or one-time PIN.
- An official ASMRAF WhatsApp number has not been published yet. Check contact details on this site before sharing information.
- Before a site visit, we send you the assessor’s name and photo.
Straight answers
Is it really free?
Yes. ASMRAF is a not-for-profit, funded only by its corporate, industry and individual memberships. Mine owners never pay to register, to get a MUCC code or to be verified.
Do I have to sell to one buyer?
No. Your Certified MUCC code works with any ASMRAF-approved buyer. Already have a buyer you trust? They can apply to become approved.
How do I get paid?
Payment is handled by the payment provider used for your sale, on the agreed terms. MinePay is a technology provider. ASMRAF doesn’t buy minerals or handle payments.
What’s the difference between a Provisional and a Certified MUCC code?
It’s the same code. While it’s Provisional, it holds your place during your checks. Once it’s Certified, with its certificate, you can sell.
Who sees my information?
For this presentation, use fictional mine details. The full code and matching mine name let you retrieve the limited test record on another device or continue in MinePay. The form does not collect national ID details. Read the draft privacy notice. Real mine registration remains closed.
I can’t read or write well. Can I still register?
You can ask a trusted person to help read the form. Email ASMRAF for assistance; do not email ID documents. Phone, WhatsApp and the online assistant are not available yet.
What if I disagree with a decision?
Ask for an appeal. The draft procedure provides for a reviewer who was not involved in the original decision.
