One code for a mine. Evidence behind its status.
The MUCC framework links a mine registration to its verification history and the records of its mineral sales. It is free for miners and open to qualifying providers on non-exclusive terms.
What the specification covers
The code format, duplicate protection, Provisional, Certified, Suspended and Withdrawn statuses, restricted information and the link to transaction records.
A provisional code is not a certificate, licence or permission to trade. A lot or sale needs its own evidence and reference.
Evidence and responsible sourcing
The proposed due diligence approach draws on the OECD minerals guidance. Buyers retain their own legal and sourcing responsibilities.
No ISO conformity, accreditation, independent certification or regulatory endorsement is claimed by this draft. These require their own assessment and evidence.
Independent verification
ASMRAF controls verification. MinePay is a technology provider and takes no part in verification decisions. Membership funding does not buy a favourable outcome.
Named governance appointments, formal decision powers and the interests register remain to be confirmed. Founding-member recognition does not establish a person’s decision authority.
Who checks the mines
ASMRAF must appoint competent assessors and authorised decision-makers, with country-specific requirements and conflicts checks. No accreditation body or independent auditor has yet been confirmed for publication.
Use the MUCC in your service
Any qualifying provider can apply. Access requires an agreed purpose, security and data-protection arrangements, and technical acceptance. An application does not grant access to private records.
